Bob Dylan 2007 Never Ending Tour
Bob Dylan: vocal, electric keyboard (organ & piano), electric guitar, harmonica
Stu Kimball: rhythm guitar
Denny Freeman: lead guitar
Donnie Herron: violin, mandolin, banjo, pedal steel guitar
Tony Garnier: double bass and bass guitar
George Recile: drums & percussion
With an unchanged band Dylan started in Europe, toured through the US twice and in between did a short (12 concerts) trip Down Under. Apart from the final US leg (12-16 songs) the main set list contained 13-15 songs and a 2 song encore.
For the first time since 2003, Dylan played guitar on the first few songs every night. Sometimes he replaced the annoying organ for piano. And developed the annoying ability to sing some songs in a tone as if they were boring him.
Bob Dylan’s 32nd studio album, Modern Times, earned a Platinum Disc award from the RIAA for sales of one million pieces in the USA. Two Grammys, one for Someday Baby in the category Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance, and for Modern Times in the category Best Contemporary Folk/American Album brings his total wins to ten.
New releases: the two disc DVD Don’t Look Back 65 Tour Deluxe Edition. The Traveling Wilburys Collection (CD + DVD). The film soundtrack to I’m Not There, containing the song I’m Not There (1956) from The Basement Tapes. The film I’m Not There, directed by Todd Haynes premieres at the Telluride Film Festival in Telluride.
The second season of Theme Time Radio Hour.
Wembley Arena 1st 2007 (Crystal Cat Records 822/23). London, April 15.
