With an unchanged band Dylan starts in Europe, tours through the US twice and in between does a short (12 concerts) trip Down Under. Apart from the final US leg (12-16 songs) the main set list contains 13-15 songs and a 2 song encore.
For the first time since 2003, Dylan plays guitar on the first few songs every night. Sometimes he replaces the annoying organ for piano. And develops the annoying ability to sing some songs in a tone as if they are boring him.
Bob Dylan’s 32nd studio album, Modern Times, earns a Platinum Disc award from the RIAA for sales of one million pieces in the USA. Two Grammys, one for Someday Baby in the category Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance, and for Modern Times in the category Best Contemporary Folk/American Album brings his total wins to ten.
New releases: the two disc DVD Don’t Look Back 65 Tour Deluxe Edition. The Traveling Wilburys Collection (CD + DVD). The film soundtrack to I’m Not There, containing the song I’m Not There (1956) from The Basement Tapes. The film I’m Not There, directed by Todd Haynes premiers at the Telluride Film Festival in Telluride.
